Can I book a trial lesson to see if the school is right for me?More than that, you can have the entire first week free! Try any subject you like, or if you're unsure which level you're at, try both and see which you feel most comfortable in, all absolutely free. Book your free trial today on our website.
Can I watch my child dance? We prefer not to have parents in the studio on a regular basis, as it can be distracting for other children. But we do have a window in the door of the studio through which you are welcome to watch the class. If a younger child is particularly upset or reluctant to join in we will allow the parent to accompany the child into class until they feel more comfortable.
What should I wear for the first lesson?Shorts or leggings, t-shirt and bare feet are fine for most lessons. Clean, indoor trainers for street. And if you're taking a tap class we have a borrow box with most sizes of tap shoes for short term use.
Where can I buy the uniform? From us. We have a small dance shop at the desk with the full range of our uniform in stock. We order from our supplier weekly, so if we don't have your size in stock, it should be there by your next lesson.
How do I pay for classes? We bill students four-weekly via email. This email will include a link to our online parent portal where you can pay by card, or sign up to auto-pay. If you prefer cash you can pay at the desk at the studio.
I don't have email, how will I get my statements?Don't worry, just let us know at the desk and we can add you to our paper invoice list, which we hand out in class.
Do you accept card payments?Yes! We have a card machine at the studio (£1 surcharge) or you can use a credit or debit card online.
Why choose DDC?Dewsbury Dance Centre is a family run business that has been brought the love of dance and performance to hundreds of local students for more than ten years. Many of our dancers have been with us, and stayed with us, for over a decade. So whether you dance for fun, fitness or a future career, there's always a place in our friendly community for you. But if that's not enough, here's a few more reasons to choose DDC.
We are a dance school, owned and run by dance teachers. This means we are fully invested in our students and the quality of teaching, with no additional projects and sidelines to distract us from our goals.
We have small class sizes, capping each class at 12 for Pre-school, 15 for Juniors and 10 for senior classes. This allows us to give each child the personal attention they need, whilst also avoiding crowded class rooms with no space to dance.
We are affordable. By only charging four weeks at a time, compared to other schools which often ask for a full term of 10 or 12 weeks up front, we allow you to spread the cost into more manageable chunks.
We offer performers a range of opportunities including IDTA exams, competitions and an annual show. But nothing is compulsory, so you can choose how much or little you wish to be involved.
